Summer Physicals and Vaccine Schedule Changes

Beat the summer rush and schedule your child's annual physical today!

There are recommended vaccines for adolescents. The Gardasil vaccine that helps prevent genital warts and cervical cancer can now be given as a 2-dose series for those adolescents under 15 years of age. Teenagers 15 years and up will still need the 3-dose schedule for protection.

We also have Trumenba which is a vaccine to prevent meningitis. This helps prevent strain B meningitis that is not in the current Menactra vaccine. We are recommending this vaccine after the 16th birthday to prevent a very contagious and serious illness.

Call if you have questions.

Flu Vaccines Available!

We have flu vaccines available! Walk in hours for flu vaccines are Monday through Friday 9 am to 11 am and 1 pm to 4 pm. We recommend the flu vaccine for most adults and children ages 6 months and up. The Flu Mist was not effective in recent years, so we will only offer injectable flu vaccines this year.

New Vaccines!

We have the new version of Gardasil that covers 9 strains of Human Papillomavirus instead of 4! This will provide broader coverage against genital warts and cancer. This vaccine can be given to females from 11 to 26 years old and males 11 to 21 years old. We also have Trumenba which is a vaccine to prevent meningitis. This helps prevent strain B meningitis that is not in the current Menactra vaccine. We are recommending this vaccine after the 16th birthday to prevent a very contagious and serious illness. Call if you have questions.

Car Seat Recall

There is a warning regarding the buckle system of several Graco car seats.  The concern is that over time dried liquids and food will make the buckle difficult to unlatch in an emergency situation.  Please see the link attached that describes the recall in more detail.

ALERT!

If you use any of the concentrated laundry detergent "pods," please keep them up high and out of reach of children.  They have been associated with poisonings and even deaths.  The chemicals inside can cause eye irritation.  They can cause mild to severe upset stomach with vomiting, drowsiness, wheezing, gasping, and respiratory failure if ingested or inhaled.
